Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece hosting in the metropolitan area more than 1.000.000 people.

It consists the administrative and governmental centre for all northern Greece and a key hub for the Balkan area, hosting the second largest port in the country and key infrastructures for trade and transport to and from the other countries in the Balkans. 

Living in Thessaloniki is like a passage in history from ancient Greek times to the Roman era, on to the years of the Byzantine Empire and modern history of the 20th century  and up until today.

Renown for it’s little taverns with many different delicacies, the coffee shops along the seaside and the night clubs, Thessaloniki is a city that never sleeps.

Lots of parts of the old city have been renovated during the last years and have been converted to points of social and commercial development, while maintaining their traditional character, thus contributing to the creation of a very modern “old” city.

Thessaloniki is easily reached by direct international flight connections to more than 110 direct destinations, has 22 daily flights to Athens and bus and railway connections to every big city in Europe.

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Aristotle University is situated near the city center, providing easy access to most of the central locations and to the shopping and cultural districts.

In the premises of the University students can have access to many services including:

  • The central and departmental libraries
  • The gym and athletic facilities

Living in Thessaloniki is very affordable compared to other similar european cities.

Accomodation in an one bedroom apartment (around 50 s.m.) near the city centre and the University is expected to cost 250€-350€ per month

Communications and internet services are expected to cost 30€-50€ per month as all provider offer special packages for students
